This wonderful event includes a live auction of artwork by local and national artists, and a silent auction of a wide variety of sports tickets and memorabilia, spa packages, restaurant gift certificates, jewelry, wine, professional services, and more. With live music provided by Arrogance, and libations and hors d'oeuvres provided by The George, Sullivan's, Mura, Firebird's, Urbana Catering and other fine area restaurants and caterers, it promises to be a gala evening in support of a worthy cause. This year's Downtown Appetite for Art is dedicated in memory of Damian Dunn, 14, who was a member of the Washington Elementary Boys & Girls Club. On Friday, June 13th, 2008, Damian was tragically shot and fatally wounded just hours after leaving the Club where he was scheduled to become a youth counselor this summer. Kristen Hackett, the Art Director for the Raleigh Girls Club and Brentwood Boys & Girls Club, and one of our Featured Artists, has commissioned a painting of Damian for this auction. Her painting, "Drummer Boy", will be featured in the Live Auction.
